Busy Day...not very photoslendiferous, but good

Met a couple from North Carolina who have driven the AlCan twice...their advice--bring toilet paper because of necessary roadside stops and never pass a gas station without topping off. They said we will see lots of animals and could drive for 100 miles and not see a car. Facilities are sometimes 350 miles apart, and that the experience is wonderful. As we left Lethbridge we saw a Chevy dealership and on a whim turned in to see if we good get a quick checkup, oil change etc before the great unknown of the AlCan...it is Saturday and of course there were no appointments available. A car pulls up behind us, the woman gets out, and tells the service manager she has an appointment, but doesn't need it...so we got in and serviced in 30 minutes...WOW must be fate. Next stop Head-Smahed-In Buffalo Jump-a world heritage site...worth the stop. On to High River through the bread basket of the whole WORLD! We got here in time to do laundry...I have a picture of Chet "posing" as he folds... Went to Sat. Evening mass...drove all the way to Alberta to have a Chinese priest we couldn't understand, say mass...oh well it counts. We have a short drive to Calgary tomorrow. The whole area is abuzz about the Stampede.(google for more) There are contests in the paper for the best song about beef and cowboy poetry...giddy-up. We will find out what it's all about tomorrow.#end

    That was wrong, I know...

Is Alberta like the Texas of a Canada? And what the heck is a Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump?
