Fwd: Bear warnings

Valdez...there is a pink salmon fish hatchery where little salmon are
released and in two years they return to spawn. Animals congregate to
feast and fishermen try to avoid the bears. A bear sow and her three
cubs have been frequenting the stream that flows under this bridge.
The local paper reminds humans that bears can sprint at 30 mph and
people cannot! These signs in the parking lot remind people to stay
away from the stream. People were standing on the edge of the sound
the stream flows into and casting their fishing lines. We watched a
woman in a wheelchair catch 4 pink salmon in 5 minutes. She was with
2 people who were catching them just as fast!
